You are free to use our XtenCHO™ cell line for internal research purposes only. This means that once you have the cell line, you may use it for unlimited production as long as it is for internal development of new products.
However, if you plan to use the cell line for commercial purposes—such as producing products for sale or offering services to customers—a licensing agreement will be required. This agreement typically includes a one-time signature fee and royalties based on the sales revenue generated from these products or services.
XtenCHO™ Race cells perform exceptionally well across various culture scales and are particularly efficient in low-volume productions. They can be used in formats such as 24-well deep-well plates, 50 mL vented flasks, 3 L flasks, and even in bioreactors exceeding 10 L.

After purchasing the starter kit, you’ll need to reorder consumables such as the XtenCHO™ Expression Medium, L-Glutamine, and anti-clumping agent as needed to continue your experiments.

Each item is stable for 12 months from the date of manufacture if the cells, reagents, and medium are stored at their optimal storage temperatures. Diluted XtenFect Reagent, the working solution, and XtenCHO™ Race Enhancer should be used within 4 weeks after dilution or thawing.
We recommend using the pXten1 Expression Vector for expressing your protein of interest. While XtenCHO™ Race Cells support high expression levels from various expression plasmids, they perform best when pXten1 is used as the expression vector. The chosen vector must include the CMV promoter.
Our XtenCHO™ Race Cells are derived from CHO-K1 cells, making them compatible with standard CHO-K1 selection methods. However, please note that XtenCHO™ Race Cells are engineered to be resistant to geneticin. We recommend using an alternative selection method to establish stable cell lines.
Yes, it is possible to adapt your CHO cells to the XtenCHO™ Expression Medium. This adaptation may enhance the productivity of your CHO cells and support high-density growth. However, there is no guarantee that other CHO cell lines will achieve the same expression levels as the XtenCHO™ Race Cells. XtenCHO™ Race Cells have been specifically engineered for optimal protein expression. When combined with the pXten1 Expression Vector, the optimized protocol, and reagents, these cells enable extended transient gene expression by enhancing plasmid-driven expression and improving plasmid maintenance.
